wonderful rendition. the message here is certainly clear at first glance. the type is nice because it simply reaffirms the visual idea.
at further inspection, i was slightly confused as to the order of the faces. the character becomes more sleep disoriented counter clockwise--- while i'd assume that it would happen in the sequence that NORMAL time runs. however, furthering the thought of normal time led me to conclude that as the deprivation accumulates, the perception of time is no longer correct or normal. from more experience of all nighters than i would like to have, i can attest to the fact that time runs much more slowly the longer one goes without sleep - - almost like the clock is running backwards.
i think that the shift in color was a good idea as well. i feel like, as the type does, it supports the other imagery. from the warm, lifelike tones, to the drone like blues.....
it seems that my message is working as I intended, visually and textually, as you confirmed. although the counterclockwise order of the faces wasn't intentional; i guess after flipping and reversing the clock element so many times, along with a little sleep deprivation, I ended up ignoring the final orientation. But it's nice that this little accident reinforces the message. Maybe it was appropriate to go without sleep while working on this so that my design decisions were a true expression of the subject.
